Poem 10 – Goodbye Garden State:( Hello Sunshine State:)

When I was younger

If asked, do I like the

 cold weather, I would

have told you,  Yeah!

I would have told you

I liked cold   weather.

But things  changed.

We had gotten older.

The toll of two years of continuously playing soccer whenever

and various nasty accidents later, combined with a sad dispo-

sition that bordered on a depression, made the cold weather

unbearable.  So at forty seven, off to the Sunshine State we

went,  leaving New

Jersey behind.  We

just came to see M

ickey   Mouse; the

 next year,  we built

our  house.   Wow.

Now if you asked,

I still like the cold –

beer on my bucket

and I still like  ice-

 Ice on my whiskey

 Beer on my bucket

– I still  like  it  cold.

Ice on  my whisky,

I still  like it,   daily.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not

an alcoholic.    I am actually a

workaholic and now I need to

frolic, not in winter Wonderland

but in  the original  Disneyland.
